Equality and Diversity Statement
The Secret Space is committed to the principles of equality of opportunity. We recognise that inequalities and discrimination still exist in society and endeavour to ensure that there is open access for all those who wish to participate in our classes and sessions, and that they are treated fairly, in accordance with the law and reflecting the ethos and philosophy of inclusivity and equality.
We endeavor to provide services (yoga, Pilates, meditation, holistic therapies and workshops) that are accessible to, and suitable for everyone regardless of age, ill-health, disability, race, financial resources, gender, pregnancy, religion, sexual orientation, gender re-assignment and body size.
We have a wide range of services to suit different individuals. Our team of therapists are highly skilled in holistic health care to cover a wide rage of needs.
A number of our classes are aimed specifically at those with specific requirements. We also run some general classes that are fully inclusive. These are classes with a teacher who has the skills to provide suitable variations and modifications for people with disabilities (including learning disabilities), injuries and chronic illnesses.
We ask that you contact us in advance, whether you want to book a class or a therapy, with as much information about your needs as possible, so that we can adequately prepare. Please bring along a PA or carer (by arrangement) if this would benefit you.
Details of specialist and inclusive classes can be found here
We have limited access for wheelchair users and people with more severe mobility problems. You will be able to access our studio but not our changing rooms or toilets. We have a ground floor therapy room available by special arrangement. We are in the process of looking for a satellite space that is fully accessible. In the meantime, we can offer private classes and therapies in the comfort of your own home. Please email us you are interested in this.
We offer a range of specialist pregnancy services. We have a team of therapists who specialize in everything from conception to post-natal care, and some of our teachers are also trained to include pregnant women into their general classes – please check with us if you are pregnant and want to attend a general class. Please remember that it is not recommended that you take yoga or Pilates during the first trimester.
We offer a number free and low-cost classes. If you are in financial difficulty, and would like to take advantage of any of our services, do feel free to get in touch, and we’ll do what we can to help.
We warmly welcome ideas and suggestions to help us improve our service provision. We will take an active stance against discrimination, harassment and bullying and invite you to discuss any concerns that you may have.
